Early childhood professionals (ECP) must learn, understand, and acknowledge why and how observation and recording is essential in an early childhood setting (ECS). Pedagogy- means the way we teach; to teach we must understand how. ECP must take into consideration the way the environment is stimulating to the children's growth, the situation being assessed at the time, and understanding how children communicate through play so the observation can be accurate. Play-based learning is an utmost important asset to help children understand the world around them (Ditez & Kashin, 2016). According to National Association for the Education of Young Children (NAEYC, 2011) there are 4 sections of professional relationships ECP will encounter: family, children, colleagues, community and society. ECP must follow codes of ethics when working with these groups of people, which help keep everyone safe and provide the highest enlightening program and quality of life for children. ECP must makes decisions daily, which makes these ethic codes invaluable because they let ECP hold themselves to the highest standards when working with children. An example of NAEYC code of ethics would be knowing how to properly respond to a situation where children are unsafe. We must know the signs of verbal or physical abuse and take appropriate steps in order to keep children safe. We must report any suspected cause of neglect to the proper authorities, and keep the situation confidential. Without these codes, there can be various misunderstandings; however, when ECP are guided by these codes they can determine there is more than one solution to a situation and different courses of actions can be
