NAKED is a character driven, supernatural drama of self-discovery. The story also features a forbidden romance. The script conveys solid themes about second chances and forgiveness. The concept is extremely creative and imaginative. The script’s tone is mainly dramatic with a magical sense of style. There’s nice visual storytelling with the moth and the blue glow, as well as the statues. It’s easy to immediately connect with the premise of a woman from 1943 being magically transported to the present day and falling in love. There are elements of a “fish out of water” tale. He’s a complex and very intriguing man. He’s controlling and abusive, yet there’s something very vulnerable and actually likable about him. One understands why he’s bitter. There are moments he seems nice and then the alcohol turns him into a nasty and bitter man. Consider ways he could be an obstacle between Jesse and Camille. The mother feels nicely crafted. One likes, at the end, how she tries to protect her son and knows he has to leave. The dialogue contains strengths and weaknesses. The dialogue reveals information about the characters and is consistent with their personalites. However, as mentioned, Camille’s voice isn’t as engaging as it should be. She doesn’t have an authentic range of emotion in her voice. On page 61, her dialogue actually sounds overly dramatic, “It is finished, Rodin!” Her message at the end about forgiveness is a bit on the nose. Jess’s voice reveals his inner conflict, but at times he sounds immature. Carl has a very distinct voice and it’s congruent with his personality. There’s nice dialogue when he argues with Jess on page 76. Lisa has a fun voice and it reveals her spunk. On page 46 one appreciates the subtext when Lisa says: It’s about a passive young man, secretly filled with
