SUPPORTING STATEMENT Specifically, the healthcare support role within the NHS is for me an opportunity to be a part of a people whose passion is to support and contribute to making positive impacts on the lives of patients. To me, it is not merely a position but a calling to offer solace in times of distress and support in moments of triumph. I am a healthcare support worker whose journey is an embodiment of empathy, resilience, and unwavering dedication to mental health care across all age groups. I started working in healthcare professionally in 2022. I had the opportunity to choose between my field of study and the healthcare, but based on my personal research and physical evidence, I opted for healthcare. I had a brief stint in adolescent and older adults’ wards, although it was a little bit turbulent, but with the support of my colleagues and other professionals, I was able to offer them quality care professionally by creating safe spaces where vulnerability was met with compassion and acceptance. As I transitioned into adult mental health, from schizophrenia to bipolar disorder, I never approached each as a label but as a unique human psyche. Although my passion is working with all age groups suffering from any form of mental health illness, I feel more passionate when working with adults. I enjoy the multidisciplinary approach, the long term relationship developed with service users, and I relish the assessment, treatment, recovery, rehabilitation, and discharge process. I would now like to develop my professional interest further by working for Kingfisher Ward, which I know boasts an excellent combination of esteemed professionals as well as a cohort of service
