Being accepted into NHS would be a great honor. I want to give back to the community and help people who need it. My older brother was in NHS for three years and he loved it. He enjoyed volunteering and thought it was fun, this made me want to do the same. I am a great candidate for NHS because I show great leadership, character, and service. When you search the definition of leadership, is comes up as “the act of leading a group of people in an organization.”. I do agree with that definition, but it is missing a huge piece of what leadership actually is. Leadership is someone who is reliable, responsible, successful, inspiring, and much more. I believe I show this true definition of leadership. When I was young, I found out I had Osteogenesis Imperfecta, a disease that causes my bones to break easy. This did not stop me one bit. I always kept a positive attitude at home and at school. I enjoy helping others and giving back to the community. When my older brother was in highschool, he was in NHS. Every year around Christmas, he would do bell ringing outside of Hobby Lobby. Me and my other siblings would all go with him and help him because we enjoyed it and we had lots of fun. I do not complain when I get asked to go out of my way and do something. I also provide aid and support to my fellow peers inside and outside of school. I also provide encouragement and positivity to my friends when they need it. Two years ago, my friend had to get back surgery. This was her first surgery and she was terrified, so I Facetimed her while she waited to go in and calmed her down and got her mind off of it.
