I've applied to NYU's College of Arts and Sciences because (1) NYU is well known for its economics and math departments, (2) NYU's strong reputation and strong classes in the social studies (mainly, politics, economics, and history) will prepare me for graduate school, (3) NYU offers several enticing study abroad programs, and (4) being in a large city, NYU has several opportunities for research, internships, and connections, all of which are integral to getting into graduate school. I want to major in political economics (with a focus on theoretical economics) and minor in history, with a focus on World War II and the Cold War.
