Nanjing Massacre is one of the most representable incidents in the history of the Japanese militarist invading China during the World War II. December 13, 1937, Japanese army captured the capital of the republic China Nanjing over six weeks. During this period, Japanese Army murdered Chinese civilians and disarmed combatants numbering an estimated 40,000 to over 300,000 people. After World War I, Japan 's expansion in China by the Anglo-American powers curbed. China 's northern Expedition weakened the Japanese economic in China, and urge the Japanese government to adjust its China policy , the annexation of Northeast China to speed up the pace. Since Chiang Kai-Shek ordered to remove the capital to Chongqing, many embassies in China moved away. British and American reporters were forced to leave China. Only 22 foreigners stayed in China voluntarily and established the International Committee for Nanjing Safety Zone, and protected over 250 000 Chinese. Those 22 foreigners tries to get the truth of the Japanese massacre sent through the tight encirclement. Because of the Japanese government was under international pressure, they had to ordered the General Iwane Matsui and his 80 soldiers return to Japan.
Back in the past, Japaneses believed China were the weakest countries in the world and they had the largest land in the world,that was the main reason why Japanese only killed Chinese and because they were afraid of other countries.
