What type of person represented by one of the animals in animal farm is most harmful to society and/ or a government

Thesis: Napoleon represents a person who lusts for power and will do anything to be on top, this characteristic is the most harmful to society and/ or a government.

Animal Farm is a book about pigs who rise to power after they, and other animals, take over the farm that they live on. The pigs come up with fair rules that all the other animals respect, plan out the working year, and build a windmill for the animals benefit, but things take a turn for the worse. All the animals on animal farm are ignorant and do everything that the pigs tell them to do, the pigs catch on to this and start to change the rules in their favor. The two main pigs, Napoleon and Snowball, are in a power struggle in the beginning of the book until Napoleon exiled him and forms a dictatorship. Napoleon slowly plagues the animals under his rule with hard work and small rations, ultimately transforming into a new Jones. Napoleon is a parallel with Joseph Stalin, he follows the timeline that Stalin made starting with following the words of old major, who represents Karl Marx. Trotsky was was a Marxist revolutionary, theorist, and Soviet politician. Trotsky was in a power struggle with stalin after Karl Marx died, and was ran off to mexico. The first thing we see Napoleon do is steal the cows milk for himself and other pigs to mix into their mash. After he steals the milk, Snowball is exiled from the farm by Napoleon and his dogs. The dogs “ wagged their tails to him in the same way as the other dogs had been used to do to Mr. Jones" (pg. 53) The dogs he raised are the Komitet Gosudarstvennoy Bezopasnosti (KGB) and act in the same moral- less way, killing whoever betrays Napoleon. This shows that he represents someone who will use power and force to get his own
