Napoleon Bonaparte was known worldwide for his leadership and ambition. “Great ambition is the passion of a great character. Those endowed with it may perform very good or very bad acts. All depends on the principles which direct them.” –Napoleon Bonaparte. Napoleon was known as the short one, but don’t let his height fool you; he was the cause of many wars during the middle ages. He was well known for his military skills. Napoleon inspired the French nation to improve, and defeated many enemies.
Napoleon learned all of his military skills as a young child. He attended a military college of Brienne for five years, and after graduating went to a military academy in Paris. When his father died, he started to finally get a strong sense of leadership. Napoleon became the second lieutenant in 1786. Soon after he clashed with Pasquale Paoli, and fled the country to France. Napoleon was connected to all the right people and promoted his position to the rank of general.

With his new power, he brought back Roman Catholicism as the main country’s religion. Many people started to support Napoleon as their leader. He then gave himself the positon, Emperor of France. The defeat of an important Francean enemy at the Battle of Marengo enforced his new positon. In 1802 he created a Treaty of Amiens with the British for peace that lasted three years. After defeating enemies in battles, Napoleon slowly turned his attention to the economic problems in France. He stabilized governments, made education available for everyone and fixed the frigid relationship with the Catholic
