It was a warm Monday morning, I got a mail with urgent written all over it. After opening the mail I could not believe what I saw in the box. It was an acceptance letter from a university in America named Clark University. I was in high school when my father asked me to consider the option of studying in America but I did not want to leave my country for anything. But to keep his heart I took the SAT test. Then I decided to concentrate on my high school scores to apply for colleges in my country. When the scores for both the test came out, I was startled to find that I did good enough to get admission into some of the big universities in America. That sinking feeling made me to live to my fullest and enjoy every moment. Then the final week of my departure finally came I was feeling the uneasiness that it might take me a lot of time to meet my family again. On the last night before my flight I could not sleep. I started having headaches thinking of all the things I will be leaving behind in this country but I pulled myself together and during our way to the airport I smelled the way my city used to smell for the last time. The smell of food emanating from the houses and the “pollution” of the city. After consulting to fellow stewards he came back and said that “You got very lucky because generally we do not have spare meals”. The meal contained some salad, some chickpeas and pasta although the meal was nothing special, but the fact that I got that food because someone did not take it, it tasted good. Pasta ingredients like the tomato souse, olives which I have had tasted countless times in my life before this incident, were bursting on my tongues. Even the chickpeas which doesn’t have taste of its own was tasting delicious and juicy. After meal I watched 3 episodes of “Two and a half men” show was really funny and after that I watched another Batman movie aptly named “Batman”. The movie was dark and violent, but the acting of Jack Nicholson as joker stole the show. After the movie ended I slept during the rest of the flight. When the flight landed on Rome airport and I made way to the last transit flight, I was delayed my boarding pass, after getting boarding pass I was supposed to get on a bus which would take me to the flight.
