Moving to a different state during your high school years is not always easy. Different environment, different customs and different people. I moved from Miami to Houston in the middle of the 1st Semester of my freshman year. We moved to Houston due to financial issues. My sister told my father of the job opportunities in Houston, convincing him to move. My sister assisted us move from Miami. It took over a day to arrive at Houston. Upon arrival, we noticed how less compact Houston was when compared to Miami. We resided at my sister's apartment at the southwestern part of Houston. We all manage to accommodate to the situation. My father suffers from high blood pressure and stress tends to increase his blood pressure. When his blood pressure rises, his temper easily changes. He would sometimes blame people, creating an imbalance of emotions in the family. Stress affected not only my dad's behavior, but all of ours as well. We would be very moody and even depressed at times. We weren't acting like ourselves. The level of stress we experienced changed our character and made us say things we didn't meant. At the end of the day, we would all regret our actions and come into a state of depression. However, my father always knew how to make things better and cheer us up. Due to special circumstance, it was difficult for my parent to find jobs. Not many people would hire my parents because my father was not a legal resident and my mother only knew how to speak Spanish, suffered from arthritis, and suffered from memory loss due to an accident several years ago.
