“You do realize that you are saying you are willing to stay with me in the underworld and rule the spirits of the dead?” he asked. The woman nodded energetically and gripped Pluto’s hand tightly. “I fully realize what I have agreed to. This village has no future for me, a woman who has taken a wife, only to have him killed in a harsh bout of sickness. I have never taken another husband and, therefore, I no longer belong here,” the woman declared passionately. In the time they had been in the underworld together, Pluto and his companion had learned much about each other. Pluto taught the woman how the underworld worked, and all of the duties that he had to take care of on a daily basis. Pluto also explained a little of why he lived in the underworld. Just recently, Pluto had also divulged the entirety of why he had gone out looking for a person to rule beside him, as the woman now did. During this time of explanation, the woman had revealed her name and described her past to Pluto in full detail. The woman’s name was Albia. She was named after her mother before her, and expressed she felt burdened by the weight of the legacy her family had left behind. Of course, it did not truly sound like much of a legacy, but Pluto said nothing to contradict her. What might not seem like a legacy to him could have supported Albia’s entire family.
