When he was a kid, he thought he was watching an Iowa Hawkeyes football game because of the yellow and black jerseys, but it was the Steelers playing in the Super Bowl. When my dad was wrong about the team, he still stayed a fan. My dad always bought me Steelers stuff, but I don’t know what it was. So I always had a Steelers jersey and poster and he bought me football cards. The top name cards were Tom Brady, Mitch Trabisky, Drew Brees, and Christian McCaffrey. The Steelers had been to nine Super Bowls and won six, before I was born, but the biggest game since I was alive was the 2017 AFC Championship game. Only the best teams from the AFC and NFC go to the Super Bowl. We are playing the awesome team of the New England Patriots, with Tom Brady, a future Hall of Famer, along with one of the great tight ends, Rob Gronkouski. Their coach, Bill Bellicheck, is also a future Hall of Famer. So the Steelers were contending for a spot in the Super Bowl, and I was excited. On game day, my dad and I, his friend, were watching the game. We were all sitting on the couch drinking Sprite. At the end of the second quarter, I was feeling good because the Steelers were putting some points on the board. There was a play that I felt good about when our running back scored a touchdown to make the score 10-7. My dad and my dad’s friend Tim high-fived and I felt hope.
