One day during a basketball game, with only 30 seconds left on the clock and a score of 35-35, Val was making sure her teammates were running the court. Val is playing one-on-one with her defender, and she decides to drive in. BEEP! Val makes the layup and the crowd goes wild. But, Val was still on the floor, and in really bad pain. Val couldn’t get up or move her right knee at all. Her coach, trainer, and parents ran to the court helping her get up. The next thing you know, she is in the trainer's office with some bad news. She had torn her ACL badly and had to go to the hospital immediately. Val is a junior in high school and is one of the most athletic girls in her school. She grew up playing with her same group of teammates that she had been playing with throughout her years of playing. Val was probably one of the best guards in her team. She had the footwork, defensive skills, shooting skills, body fundamentals, enthusiastic, and study of the game. Almost everyone in her school knew who she was and boosted her confidence in the crowd. Val had never had a major injury before.
