Narrative Essay It was a bright Sunday morning as I was heading into the Myrtle Beach Sports Complex. Game six of the 2015 NTBA National Championships was about to be underway. I was walking into the gym to meet with my teammates, so we could prepare for our upcoming semi-final battle. Our record was an impressive 4-1, only taking a tough loss in pre-bracket play earlier in the weekend. We put it behind us, bounced back, and we were now looking for redemption. We were gearing up to play the Lady Warriors, the defending national champions from the year before. It was going to be a very tough game, but my team was hungry for a trip to the national championship game. Being the first game of the morning, the facility hastily filled up with spectators and teams playing later in the day. The pressure was high; we had played this team earlier in the year at another AAU tournament, but unfortunately we had lost a close one. This was the one game that we all needed to step up and perform so we could survive to see the 11:00 championship game. This next game would be one of the biggest games of our lives, and I could not wait.
Thirty-four points was our margin of victory in the championship game. We went in focused, and got the results we wanted. We received a beautiful glass trophy for the team, and individual medals for the players and coaches.
It took a lot of grit and determination to get to this point where we could win a national championship. A lot of blood, sweat and tears were spent trying accomplish our goals on the season. This tournament taught me one of the biggest lessons in my life, hard work never fails to pay off. If you ever want something in life, give it all you got and the results will come your
