When peace finds a way to seep into your bones, you start to believe that it really does live on Earth. The tranquility found in the Colorado mountains is unmatched. As my family and I drove up to a hiking trail, we were greeted by a roaring waterfall, towering pine trees, and wildlife we rarely see in Nebraska. Colorado’s beauty is so distinctive. The mountain air was like no other: cold, pure, and almost as if we were cleansing our souls with every breath. The unique experiences and lasting memories I enjoyed with my family strengthened our bond. At times, our bond is pushed to its limits. The Seven Bridges Trail was a hike I had never experienced. The trail had steep inclines, jagged rocks, and clear rivers, each with its own numbered bridge. With all of this in mind, my family did not back down from reaching the seventh bridge. Crossing the first couple of bridges was easy. I led the way with my fearless siblings trailing behind me and my parents behind them so they didn't get lost. I feel a natural sense of responsibility for my siblings, who have always looked up to me. As a result, this drives me to be the best version of myself possible. I want to give them my morals of respect and love. In school, I take the hardest classes available to show them how important their education is and to motivate them toward success. Truthfully, they motivate me personally. Halfway through, as the hike started to become difficult, my parents encouraged my siblings and me to keep going. My parents are some of the strongest people I know, having overcome countless obstacles and numerous sacrifices to bring me to where I am
