NEW PROVIDENCE, NEW JERSEY- This past Friday, on June 5th, the rain did not prevent Salt Brook Elementary School from inviting New Providence High School students from across town for a day of community service. It was the high school’s third community service trip of the year as students previously visited the Community Food Bank of New Jersey in Hillside and Allen W. Roberts Elementary School. The 23 high school students on Friday’s trip took part in various field day activities such as the Bean Bag Toss, the Long Jump, and the Spoon and Golf Ball Relay.
This quote was meaningful to me because this quote can relate to my life and how when you focus your attention on one specific thing, you tend to spend less attention on others. In my life, spending more time on my favorite sport will improve my skills but lessen my attention to another area of my life like school or socially, but not paying attention to others socially can also impact your life as well. A goof balance is needed, but this quote is proving how what you pay attention to is more prominent within our life and we tend to ignore and pay less attention to other
Today was the second day of the trial. A doctor testified that Peter had been sane during the school shooting, but the doctor never encountered Peter. In my point of view, people think they know the person that Peter is, by judging only from the day of the shooting. Another doctor that testified was, Dr. King Wah. This man had several interviews with Peter and concluded that Peter had Post Traumatic Stress Disorder, which happened because of others continually tormenting Peter.
“The task ahead of you is never as great as the strength within you”. I live by these quotes each day which shapes up of who I am. If I start something I must always finish and give it my all, whether it’s on the field and off the field. To give one-hundred percent in a game and in the classroom, that winners never quit, and quitters never win. Whether I win or lose, as long as I gave it my all, then that’s all that matters.
This quote makes me reflect on my
There it was, standing in the distance, a tall gloomy gray-colored building. With a few splashes of blue paint added to the dull cement to add color to what would otherwise be a lifeless building. This building was non-other than the one and only Stoller Middle School. I never referred to it as a middle school but more as a prison, it was full of rules that were put in place just to suck away any possible fun from a child’s mind. Maybe I didn’t like the place because I was suspended five times from it.
When it comes to sports my family has many ties to Middletown High School South. In the Going as far back as the 1980’s when my Dad attended the same high school. He was a standout wrestler for the team and was given multiple scholarships to wrestle in college. My family name is everywhere within the trophy rooms and walls of Middletown South. I am the youngest of three children with two older sisters coming through high school before me.
“If you think you can, you can. If you think you can’t you’re right.” Ever since I was young, that remained one of my father’s favorite quotes to say, if it be a disagreement with a friend, or working on long division problem. While growing up, knowing that my siblings had not done quite well in school, and that was one of my biggest incentives to do well. I had grown up on one of the worst sides of town, living in an apartment complex with one of the worst reputations, living off the checks my father brought in from his back disability, and food stamps.
As a freshman the transition was some what difficult for me. These are somethings I think would be good to new for the middle schoolers that are tranistioning into highschool. First keep organized. I can 't stress that enough because if you don 't you will lose things really easy and become a real mess. Another thing is a personal opinion but I don 't think that going to your locker every passing period is a good idea.
I remember being in eighth grade when I searched up Lawrence in the Google search engine. The very first article that had popped up said, “City of the Damned”. That was the first time I realized that Lawrence had a bad reputation. Walking the streets of Lawrence at night was a death call and befriending the wrong crowd was a teenager's way of avoiding family problems. This was the moment I realized the city I grew up in was toxic.
High School Graduation The beginning of the Highs School year, was a new experience for me,because of begin alone in the school without knowing nobody, not knowing the language and have zero knowledge of the academic level i need it to have in order to graduate, on the mid senior year of high school,i got a call from the counselor Mr.Calume,he told me that, in order to graduate i need it to pass 4 states exams that can be only due 2 times per year semester, and i was in my last semester of high school,so the chances of me passing those test were low for me. There for, i meet some olds friends from when i was a child from my country (Venezuela) they have move to the same school i me,so they reached me some tips and trick to pass
One time I came across failure. It all started when playing in a baseball game for Serra High School. Up to that game we had been undefeated in league play. As the game moved along it got more and more intense. Every batter and runner on base you could tell both teams were completely focused on winning that game.
In seventh grade I had my first “boyfriend”; it was the typical middle school relationship. I remember telling my parents at the time that it was not a big deal; I said something along the lines of “it’s middle school, this doesn’t mean anything”. We lasted almost a year and when we broke up it was like nothing happened expect it was a little odd seeing him with other females, but we were still friends for some time. I noticed that I was one of the few girls at that age who weren’t who knew that relationships then do not mean much. When it came to boys I had an “eh” attitude, while many girls got attached and when they broke up they were a little too sad.
Personal Narrative Essay Believe it or not, sometimes a gracious action can bring a huge influence on a person. When I read the introduction that instructor Heller wrote, there is a sentence she wrote: “Sometimes the most influential moments in our lives are smaller moments, events that we may not recognize as influential until years after the experience.” For some reason, I related to it strongly. My story is about my high school experience. Also, I will share some significant moments in my life, and how these smaller moments changed my personality.
To start off, this story takes place at burton elementary school I was in the 4th grade living my life like a normal boy would in the 4th grade. My fourth grade year was the most turnt of all my years in school still until this day the teacher was old and she was unable to control the class or nothing I stole a game board out of there and all but that's another story to tell. But i'm going to get into how the fight broke out between this boy name Jaylen and Robert. They started fighting because you know some of the other kids was picking on Jaylen and Robert was laughing at him an Jaylen told him shut his but up and Robert told him shut his but up like the back and forth thing was going on at that point so they decided since they talking
