In Young Goodman Brown By Nathaniel Hawthrone, The story discusses the life of Goodman Brown during the Quakers/Puritans time period along with the Salem witch trials. This was one of the most nightmarish episodes in Puritan History. Now this is a really crucial topic because Nathaniel Hawthrone’s grandpa went through the Witch trials so it is kind of ironic to see Goodman Brown go through it. Hawthrone stated it was important to have a strong connection with both and balance them. This kind of relates to the witch trials because the people had a relationship with nature and society but emotionally did not want to get punished or hung for it. It was important to have a strong belief in religion. Hawthrones grandfather really motivated him to write Goodman Brown and I believe he started the legacy. Judge Hawthrone was an arrogant and stern judge, He was strict, He was determined to accuse people of witchcraft and catch them in the action, He refuses to trust that the girls are pretending and not really into witchcraft and they are innocent because again they don't listen to
