The National Anthem is a patriotic musical composition composed by Francis Scott Key. National Football League players are protesting the American tradition because of racial discrimination in the United States. Many Americans are upset about this on a personal level because they have a loved one or a family member who has served, or is serving, for this country. Kneeling for the National Anthem is disrespectful, out of place, and should not be allowed on the job. The act of kneeling is disrespectful towards our country, our flag, and our military. Each person is different and has their own opinion, which is why so many people disagree on things today. In the end, we all stand for the same flag. By first amendment rights, you can protest however you like, but it should not be on the job. You could lose your job, cause problems for your company, or league, and create an uproar with your clients, or viewers. The NFL is now seen as a football league that allows its players to protest our country on the job. Many Americans are very upset with the protesting because of it’s disrespect, and most people will not single out the players. They will look at the team, or the league, as a whole to blame for the protesting. Kneeling for the National Anthem at a football game is completely unacceptable and players who participated should pay consequences. So many men and women fight for this country and our freedom, and NFL players need to come to the realization of this. The reason they are playing the sport they love, and playing it without fear of their life, is because the soldiers of America fight for our freedom.
