National History Day Website Analysis

I chose my topic through researching multiple historical people that were counted as explorers and military leaders. I looked for basic information throughout the internet so I could get a really basic understanding of the men and women. Overall, I was looking more for data that related to this year’s National History Day (NHD) theme instead of regular facts about them and their life. After not being able to find many people I found interesting online, I looked to my home library and family. Because I have family history in Tennessee, I was sure I would find something. On the internet, I found good sources leading to multiple books and websites. The first website I was led to was about North Carolina history which listed many sources they used to write their article on John. This led me to more websites and books with information on him like The Annals of Tennessee and The Trans-Appalachian Frontier: People, Societies, and Institutions. I looked through most of these books and websites and found great information about John and his life that I could use to put in the website. I decided to choose a website for its efficiency in showing and detailing information on my person. It allows me to have almost an infinite amount of space to put information on, even a video if I wanted to. But sadly, there’s a limit on memory, which would be hard to reach, and you can only have so much media on the site. Anyway, another reason is the fact that I can access it anywhere I want, even on my phone. This adds to the fact that it’s more portable than a regular show board or exhibit that you have to carry around everywhere you want to present or work on
