Recently, I received a letter in the mail. This letter contained the rejection of my application into National Honors Society (NHS). I was crushed when I saw the words Immediately I teared up because I had worked so hard on my application. Over the next few days I was angry, sad, confused, and conflicted. Close friends had gotten accepted and I was mad at them for being chosen.
Growing up in a different childhood and environment, I am a unique and different person with different goals and values compared to other students. I truly enjoy spending time with my family, achieving success through hard work, and having a happy attitude. Spending quality time with my family is one of the best ways that I can spend my day. From laughing with my brother creating inside jokes to driving on eight hour car drives to visit my sister. My father, Jeff Kim, is a man who cares about his family, and is willing to do anything to push them forward.

My background is firmly concreted in the band community. I had no idea that joining the band as a tenor saxophone player in sixth grade would have such a remarkable effect on me. My teachers and I have noticed my growth, driven by my dedication to what I love. I have worked hard within my supportive band association to achieve my goals. Of my ultimate goals was to make one of the most exclusive bands in Nebraska.
My family consist of my Dad, my mom, my sister and my dog Blue. I 'm in robotics which is my favorite place to be in. I like to read and be in tumblr. Most of my time I 'm doing my homework. The university of my dreams is MIT,but I would like to go to FIT too.
For example, both my sisters chose not to take their academics seriously and as a consequence, they were not accepted into their preferred college. I on the other, aspired to excel in academics and achieve my goal of attending Texas A&M University. Nevertheless, as life continues to present me with task I can’t handle alone, my family is there every step of the way to provide support and give advice when need be. As I branch off and head to college in the upcoming year I reflect on the numerous reasons why family plays such a paramount role in my life.
I have a beautiful family that includes my brother, Juan Carlos, my sister, Isabella Sofía, my father, José, and my mom Irma. My sister is married and has a baby girl, named after her. Part of our family is our dog, Shasta, she is a boxer. We like to walk around the town with our dog. My hobbies are to dance, sing, swim, skate, be with my friends, and go to the movie theater with them.
People that I consider essential in my life, people that are there no matter what, people that enrichen my life; when I speak about my family I do not only speak about the people that share the same bloodline as me but the limited amount of people who show those traits. My biological family holds very close ties to one another
My life, like everyone’s, has ups and downs but my family has been there to help me through them. My family has always supported me during troubled times. Aside the trouble, my family and I have lots of good times together like going to Disney or going on family road trips. When I was 4 years old I started playing softball and my dad coached me through it all, he took me to the tournaments. I remember watching the Boston Red Sox with my dad when I was about 8 years old.
The previous years I had tried our for Opus, an honor choir for 7th-9th graders. But this year, I had taken a leap, and decided to do All-State. All-State is an honor choir for 9th-12th, grade but our school doesn’t let you audition until sophomore year. This was a big change for me, and I’m about to tell you more.
My family is an essential part of who I am. Regardless of the hardships my parents experienced when leaving Oaxaca, Mexico, they wanted a change that would grant them a better outlook on life and new opportunities. In particular, my dad will always be my role model. He is always putting the needs of others before his own, and although he goes through many hardships to provide his family with essentials, a roof over our head, food on the table and clothes on our back, he is the reason I want to keep continuing with my studies. He taught me to give back to those that are going through difficulty, such as feeding the homeless, lending a hand and hosting events to the community, and it shows me that there are people out there that are selfless and willing to care for others.
I had never thought of my family as only the people I was related to, so I set out to put together a new, more suitable manner of defining family. Miraculously, I managed to do so in only seven words. Family are the people one cares about. My family is no exception, which is the reason that they're the most important aspect of my life. I was blessed with two of the greatest parents in world, and haven't always appreciated them as much as I should have.
Through all the tough and terrible situations a person may be wrapped up in your family is usually the group of people you can go to, and get the best most helpful advice. In my family I have certain people that I can automatically go to and tell them my problems without being judged, and I always get the best advice. People in your family are the people you keep closest to you because they are blood, and they’re not friends that come and go. They are blood and will always be apart of you and want nothing but the best for you. People in a family that give the best advice are the ones who have gone through so many battles in their life because they know what it takes to overcome them.
The world created by God has its influence on an individual and comprises of living and non-living things, such as human, animals, sea, buildings, etc. Because the world involves human and other living things it will always have a purpose and change of mindset and thought of us eventually. Sometimes a person’s point of view or experience might not completely define his/her personality and purpose. However, positive influences can steer up the real you. Influences can be categorized into two, which is positive and negative influences.
They have always encouraged me to do my best and strive for the best, they have always supported my positive decisions, and they have always helped me when I’ve been in trouble. My family has been there for me and each other through thick and thin, and I really love them. Their advice, support, and encouragement have incited me to endeavour for the highest possible achievements. My family is my major influence as they have affected my life from the very start of my life in everything I do.
