National Honor Society Essay I should be inducted into the Cesar E. Chavez High School Chapter of the National Honor Society because, I’m well-rounded, goal oriented, a multitasker, and have a strong determination to be successful. At the start of middle school, I began to realize how important it was for me to have a vision for my life. I started looking at colleges and what majors they offered. I was born in the suburbs of Detroit, Michigan. Detroit is known for providing poor education and high crime rates. My home and places of education were located in semi-poor living conditions. I played recreational sports and participated in girl scouts. In my preteen years, I became more involved in my church. I completed new members’ school, and children’s church. From then on, I started teaching toddlers what I had learned. The end of eighth grade was a peaked moment in my life. I was named the eighth grade valedictorian and was awarded with the most medals. Several notable events followed. The summer before ninth grades, I moved to Houston, Texas. On the first week of school, I became familiar with my freshmen assistant principal, Mr. Butler. At the end of the second week of school, I set a goal for myself to be the top ninth grader. I shared this with Mr. Butler and we began to work on the goal. I always manage to study the material taught in class in order to earn outstanding grades. Whenever I don’t understand something, I always go to tutorials and ask questions. In my first year of high school, I focused on grades and my high school plans. However, the first year was also my time of discovery.
