Membership in the National Honor Society is a venerable honor reserved only for the students that best exemplify the core values of outstanding work ethic, moral character, service to the community, and leadership, as well as a high level of scholarly achievement. I believe that I possess all of these attributes, making me an excellent candidate for acceptance into the National Honor Society. I am involved deeply with our school, with our community, with our government, I have achieved high academic standards, and I am a proven and natural leader. One of my proudest achievements is my high level of achievement in my academic studies. I have been on the honor roll in all marking periods since my outset as a Central Dauphin High School student, and receiving distinguished honors in four of my six total marking periods of high school. I am also involved in many school activities including two sports and three bands. I currently hold a fifth place all time record for Central Dauphin Swimming in my primary event, the 100 yard backstroke. I was also a member of the Mid Penn Championship and District III Championship teams both my freshman and sophomore years. In addition to year round swimming, I also play JV tennis in the spring. Furthermore, I am actively involved in music at Central Dauphin. I play six instruments including Alto Saxophone, Tenor Saxophone, Baritone Saxophone, Clarinet, Mellophone, and Piano, and I sing in my Church Choir as well. I have the honor of being principal chair on Alto Saxophone in Symphonic Band, as well as a featured soloist in the 12 O’Clock Big Band. I have applied for student leadership in Marching Band next year as well. Athletics at Central Dauphin have taught me important skills of teamwork, sportsmanship, and camaraderie.
