National Honor Society Examples

Although I am only in high school, I feel as though I have had a vast amount of opportunities that many other students my age have not been able to experience. Over the course of my high school career, I have recieved multiple superior awards for my science fair projects, as well as two ACE awards, which are two prime examples of how I have embodied the scholarship ideal for National Honor Society. Not only have I embodied the ideal of scholarship, but I have demonstrated the ideal of service through my involvement with Student Ambassadors. In addition, I dispkay the ideal of character when I decide to do the right thing, even during a tough situation. Lastly, I have showcased the ideal of leadership through my positions as a Flag Corp

Flag Corp is a uniformed group of young ladies that make the St. Paul Marching Brass halftime shows increasingly captivating by dancing and twirling a flag, as well as represent St. Paul High School during varsity football games. As a captain, I was expected to formulate and teach new routines to be performed during every varsity football game. I would spend approximately two hours practicing with my team on Mondays, Tuesdays, and Thursdays, then I would return home to develop new moves and routines to perform, which took the same amount of time. I chose to participate in Flag Corp my freshman year of highschool due to the fact that my mother was involved in this sport when she attended St. Paul High School. Next year, I plan on participating in Flag Corp to inspire and lead my teammates. This season, I found myself confronted with a numerous amount of change: a different band director; flag advisor; and team. To be a Student Ambassador at St. Paul High School, an individual must be confident, committed, and have effective communication skills; these skills are especially useful when presented with an array of multiple responsibilities. For this school year, I have been selected to represent the Student Ambassadors as a captain, alongside three of my schoolmates: Lydia Gillen, Than Smith, and Kaeleigh Stang. As a captain, I am expected to serve as a role model to oncoming Student Ambassadors, represent St. Paul High School through acts of service, and commit myself to lead in the image of Jesus Christ. At the beginning of my sophomore year of high school, I contemplated whether I should join the Student Ambassador family or not. However, I believed that pursuing a position as a Student Ambassador would inspire me to become more involved with St. Paul High School, as well as motivate me to become an amazing leader. Although I have only been involved with Student Ambassadors for two years, I plan on applying next year as well.
