Throughout this essay, the Executive Summary of the National Inquiry of Missing and Murdered Women and Girls Final Report will be reviewed. The essay will look into the framework, process, key findings, and key recommendations of the report. The purpose of the National Inquiry ultimately examines the causes of ongoing violence and vulnerabilities of Indigenous women and girls and the actions that can be taken to stop the genocide through the response to the calls for justice. A more in-depth analysis of the purpose will be further discussed in the essay. During this time, family members emphasized that understanding and honoring individuals whose lives were cruelly cut short necessitates a detailed accounting of all the ties that molded their loved one's life and that their loved one, in turn, shaped. Throughout the process, public community hearings were held, private statements were collected, expert panels were formed, and written archive records and existing studies on the problem were reviewed. This process aims to find the truth by gathering many stories from many people to have the truths woven together to show the world what violence really looks like for Indigenous women and girls in Canada. The National Inquiry reached out to put families first throughout the process rather than others who hold power, as well as being informed about the trauma encountered and making sure there is no further harm, and decolonizing where in they center Indigenous ways of being, knowing, and doing. Because Finnis is concerned with human flourishing and life fulfillment, the way Canada has had such a detrimental influence on Indigenous women and girls' security, rights, and safety, among other things, the perspective would not see that the basic principles of human existence are being met. Looking at the report's suggestions, Finnis sees them as a step forward towards effective human flourishment and fulfillment of life. Finnis believes that once essential values of life such as safeguarding rights, having a decent sense of culture, good health, security, and justice are met, these are the correct circumstances for basic values of human existence.
