Everyone wants things you need or want, but not everyone can get what they need. Most groups of people experience economic problems which is a problem when you cannot get the basic needs for survival. The three basic needs are food, shelter, and clothing. Typically, the environment will diversify how a civilization obtains their basic needs. This paper will analyze how three different Native American tribes from varying divisions solved their economic problems. The three natural resources the Inuits needed to survive were food, shelter, and clothing. In contrast, of walking or driving to the grocery store the Inuits hunted for their own food unlike people today. Inuits were nomadic due to their surroundings. Animals that were hunted by the Inuit were deer, elk caribou, and wolves, in addition to animals they fished. For example, fish, whales, and seals were other animals that they ate. Besides only eating the animals they used leftovers along with other resources. Due to weather and landscape issues these Native Americans built igloos and tents to suit their living situations. Igloos were usually built during colder seasons like Winter. In order to have a roof over their heads the Inuits carved ice and snow into a home for them and their families. During the much warmer seasons like Summer these Native Americans used animal skins to make a tent. These tents were also made of animal bones, along with animal skins. Another way the Inuits used the animals for more than just food was for clothing. Since the weather was very cold and harsh these Native Americans needed to be warm to be able to work without freezing. The Inuits used animal furs and skins to keep their bodies warm during winter. In the cold seasons these Native Americans furs and other very warm animal skins. Meanwhile in the warmer seasons the Inuits wore deer skins and deer leather.
