Research Paper Sarina Talle 12/15/17 Period 5 Before I start my research I am going to be comparing and contrasting the Native Grassses and the Invasive grassses. And the differences they have about each other. I will be mentioning different types of grasses and how there very different from native and Invasive. I also will be talking about how the plants have benefits to our lives and how they don’t at all. And how we use them to our advantages. I have researched about Native Grasses and I have learned that the gentlest breeze will cause the grasses to swell and roll across the landscape. These grasses are resilient and tough, their roots reaching deep to survive the harsh life of the Plains. I got this information from the article Native Grasses by Scott Vogt. There are over 300 species of Native Grass are in California. The grasslands support about 40 percent of Ca total native plant species. About 88 percent of California's grasslands are privately owned. Also Native grasses offer a long, green forage season. The grass provides a lot of help with water savings , support for native wildlife. Barley is recognized as one of the very first crops to be domesticated for human consumption. It remains one of the major cereal crops grown in the world: barley is grown on every continent on which crops are grown. To start the plants are made to stay up and last a while and wildlife depends on the plants for many things. Like the Common Reed plant is meant to last throughout many seasons and weather changes and and animals rely on the plant to keep them shelter and maybe even there
