The Navajo Code Talkers were a community of people who spoke and communicated on the radio. The event began with Pearl Harbor in 1942 and ended with an atomic bomb in 1950. This event led to the winning of the Second World War because of the 400 code talkers and other major Army Units. In the United States, Phillip Johnston had the idea of developing a code using the Navajo language (Navajo Code Talkers). The code was developed because the Japanese were notorious for finding ways to decode their messages (Cross, Nathan). They chose the Navajo because it was never a written language that could be translated. It should be noted that the code was eventually given out in 1970 (Navajo Code Talkers). Some of the people who helped the military were Samuel Billson, Dan Akee, Merril Sandoval, and Wilfred Billey. Nevertheless, these key people dedicated most of their lives to helping the military in the battle in Japan (Cross, Nathan). In addition, when the council sent the radio message, the language was in Navajo, and the island soldiers used the information to help the other soldiers who took action in the war. The Navajo worked in groups of two and the Navajo had to find a safe place but also a place with a lot of action to construct a plan with (Britannica). The United States eventually won the war in 1945. An officer of the Americas said that the Navajo were vital in “the battle of Iwo Jima in 1945” (Navajo Code Talkers). Also, the Navajo seemed to help the soldiers on the battlefield so much that they could decode and code a statement in 20 seconds. The Navajo were confused and killed in the war.
