In today’s society, only the best succeed. This is why every day I live by the Travis Manion quote, “If not me, then who.” Meaning, if I am not the person to fill the position and complete the task as perfectly as possible, then someone less prepared will have to. I have had the opportunity of graduating from Florida State University with a Bachelor of Science in Social Sciences. I was initially debated on what this degree could offer for me. However, as my role in the Naval Reserve Officer Training Corps(NROTC) began to mature and my course lectures went further into the policies of the world and their impacts, I was sold. I aspire to not only work to serve the people of our nation, but also those in need around the globe. UCF provides me access to numerous possibilities to build upon my capabilities and strengths. I have been a role model and an inspiration to others throughout NROTC, where I commanded and led over sixty midshipmen to raise them into prospective naval officers. Furthermore, I have had the fortunate opportunity to be a part of an internship among the Senate’s office where I was engulfed into the government culture and expected to professionally coordinate individuals as important as state senators to their necessary agendas. In accordance, I have also been able to encounter firsthand the impact of the healthcare system on poor individuals through a project management position. Through my internship experiences, I have developed the necessary characteristics to assist individuals who seek solutions. Whether through the difficult times of the parkland shooting victims marching on the capitol and in our offices, to daily patients entering the hospital. In addition to my volunteering opportunities in the food banks and veteran rehabilitation programs, I understand what it means to manage projects to put others needs above my own. My future goals continue to reflect my daily efforts, and I am continuously searching for the next step. I believe the University of Central Florida is much more than any “average graduate program,” it is an experience of a lifetime. It provides greater challenges and delivers superior potentials over which any other colleges and universities cannot surpass. Whether it be its continuously rising bachelor's program or the MBA curriculum, all are programmed to bring out true leaders within the student body. With prime examples as Jim Atchison or Allen Weiss, who have not only absorbed the UCF culture but have accomplished in presenting their work and prowess across the city of Orlando. UCF creates leaders that do not run through a program, they are molded into leaders that strive to give back. I plan to be one of those leaders. I hope that through an education at the University of Central Florida I can further my knowledge on managing a successful administration while also gaining the necessary traits of the business leader that the University of Central Florida
