Nazi Concentration Camps were created by Adolf Hitler to murder millions of Jewish people. Many were straved, abused, overworked, and completely dehumanized. Jewish people were forced to come to these camps, and many never left. What are the most historically “famous” Concentration Camps, and why? Auschwitz, Treblinka, and Belzec are some of the most historically famous Concentration camps because of the extreme conditions inmates faced. Auschwitz Auschwitz is the concentration camp most people are familiar with, but many dont truly know what happened. The Nazi's started off by having just a few concentration camps but by 1939 there were 6 camps in total. “Inmates were required to work for their wages in food. So little food was given, however, that many starved” (Britanica). For food, inmates were required to work otherwise, they got no food. Food was rationed in such little amounts many died of starvation or exhaustion from overworking. The bodies were burned in crematoriums that were often inside or very close to the camps. Anywhere from 1.1 to 1.5 million people were killed just at Auschwitz. It is also known many of these camps are used for crazy medical experiments. Treblinka Treblinka was one of the 3 killing centers that have been linked to the plan to kill nearly two million Jews living in the German territory of occupied Poland, called the General Government. It was built in summer of 1942. Inmates were mainly deported from the ghettos of Warsaw and Radom, both which are districts in the General Government. During the summer of 1942 Germans deported roughly 265,000 Jews
