Military deployments can have both positive and negative effects on marriages and children. The negative effects on marriage could be because of the impact it will have on the family, worry about the other’s safety, and a lack of communication. A negative effect a deployment can have on a child is the absence of a parent or loved one for a long time. These effects could last a long time and can cause trouble for a family. Thankfully, there are strategies that can help reduce the negative effects of a deployment such as therapy.
