The fight for black rights and equality has been a goal for centuries and it continues to this day not only that but it continues to grow worse. “Many tend to think of that era's push for civil rights and Black power as a distinctly American phenomenon. It was, in fact, a global movement--and so is BLM today” (Keisha N. Blain). Can you speculate what the author of this quote means by this? Well, a simple way to put it is that simply there is and has always been a fight for the right of black Americans and such minorities. Sadly this does not even touch the surface of how much wrongdoing to people of color and minorities is happening in general.

In fact, the movement has caused an uprising in police brutality rates, but not only that but after many centuries, protesting has not only been ineffective but there has also been a large amount if injuries and casualties due to police brutality. This has been a thing that has gone back as late as decaids ago and for whatever reason, the Government has done little to nothing to change it. The BLM movement has had many effects on society, both positive and negative. For one the amount of crime rates have gone up since the protest have come to grow more violent. This is somthing that many view as good in a since, because peaceful protests are not working clearly considering the fact that protests for the rights of people of color have been going on since the 1960’s. The majority opinion of the BLM activist are that vandalism and rioting are some of the only ways to get the government's attention or so this is what society and time has shown us. This being said saciety has not come very far in terms of equality. Thus rioting is justifiable due to the fact that it the only way to get thgovernment's attention. Though the investigation speaks for itself, to put it simply George floid, an african american man was bruitily killed through suffication by to cops claiming it was on an accident. Though many do believe him. The fact of the matter is that it is indeed what it appeared to be….A murder. Perhaps you make want a more specific explanation. “Floyd was murdered by Derek Chauvin, a white Minneapolis police officer, who pressed his knee to Floyd's neck for 9 minutes and 29 seconds while Floyd was handcuffed face down in the street”. This quote goes in to more specific but short story about what actually happened. This is just one prime example of how racism is still a thing. This lead to the next point of concern, Police brutality. This is something that has been going on for a while now and no one in the government are trying to stop it.
