The Positives Aspects of Multitasking Multitasking can be good for you. “This generation needs to multitask and do it right. It’s a good trait for anyone”, according to Aratani (2007). Multitasking is important when we grow up and we need a job, we can carry a job that requires multitasking. Multitasking has positive effects on your brain. Multitasking using technology is good for your brain because it trains you to use more senses (Wong & Lui, 2014). Most people don’t need to use their other senses because they don’t use it often. Through multitasking, you are able to utilize more senses the people who don’t multitask. In the future, they may come in handy. Also, a study showed that students who multitask get less distracted by other things (Williams, 2014). That can mean you can work at jobs that need for you to be able to work on one thing at a time with other distractions such as an air flight controller. Multitasking while doing two things at once that are educational will help you be more productive because you can do something like listening to an e-book while doing your homework so you can learn twice the stuff you normally learn (Williams, 2004). It’s a win-win. You can get smarter by doing two educational things at once. You can also get more things done at once. You can fully utilize the time available to do more things. You also save the time switching from one task to another. Multitasking definitely increases your productivity. In conclusion, multitasking has multiple positive effects. It make your life easier by getting more things done in a more enjoyable way. Furthermore, it practices and enhances your cognitive abilities.
