Did you know that Neil Armstrong was the first person to walk on the moon? Neil Armstrong was an hard working astronaut who accomplishes his dream in America in 1960. First, he accomplishes his dream. Another reason, is that he is building a rocket. Finally, he flew to the moon. First of all, when Neil Armstrong was five years old when he first learn to fly a plane. He was passion for being a pilot himself, so when he was 16 year old, he became a pilot. At that age he would study about aerospace engineering like how it work or how to build it. In the article “In 1950, he became a fully qualified US naval aviator. He received his Bachelor of Science degree in 1955 and a Master of Science degree in aeronautical engineering in 1970 from the …show more content…

Neil Armstrong started out as an engineer, working in NACA which means National Advisory Committee for Aeronautics. According to, the article “he had excellent judgment about the capabilities of his ship; and above all, he had a remarkable ability to keep his wits about him in extraordinarily dangerous situations.” Which means he can tell if the rocket to be launch or need to be fixed to be able to fly to outer space. Even though, it is really dangerous to launch to space, but he still wanted to do it. He and his worker were trying to invent a rocket that will launch a person into space by doing research. Over 17 years he become a engineer, test pilot, and astronaut. It took years to research and figure out the rocket to be safe and he flew 200 times, but it didn’t work. For example, “He steered back and forth across California in machine that looks a bit like a big pipe with US Air Force decals on the side. He banked and pitched until he could get the machine aligned with the runway and on the ground in one piece.” To explain, he try to see if any material will fall down to be fixed, so he moved it to the side and the other side and he kept on fixing until it is right. It just took time to figure out to launch the rocket. Eventually, when it is time to launch the rocket, they make sure if the rocket is good enough to land to the moon yet and back to Earth before actually doing
