Neil Gaiman
Neil Richard Gaiman was born on November 10, 1960, in Portchester, Hampshire, England, to parents David and Sheila. Gaiman’s parents were Jewish but practiced Scientology. In 1965, Gaiman’s family moved to East Grinstead, a town in West Sussex. Gaiman started reading when he was only four years old, and quickly became an avid reader. When he started going to school, Gaiman would read all his textbooks as soon as he received them and would therefore do very well because he already knew the material. In 2013, Gaiman won Book of the Year in the British National Book Awards for his novel The Ocean at the End of the Lane. He is currently working on a new book due to be released in February 2017.
Gaiman’s met his first wife, Mary McGrath, in East Grinstead. She was also a student of Scientology. They had a son, Michael and got married one year later. they relocated to the United States, living in Wisconsin and had 2 more children before divorcing in 2008. Gaiman married his second wife, Amanda palmer in 2011 and decided to legally add her middle name to his name. They have a son named Anthony who was born in 2015. Gaiman splits his time, living in Wisconsin with his family and also having a residence in Massachusetts, where he is a professor at Bard College.
There are many cool and interesting facts about Neil Gaiman. Growing up, he kept all his books in alphabetical order. At only 16 years of age, he was already writing and drawing his own comics.
