Introduction Nelson Mandela’s real name was Rolihlahla . Nelson Mandela was born on July 18, 1918 in Mvezo, South Africa. He Died on December 5, 2013 in Houghton Estate, Johannesburg, South Africa. Nelson Mandela became famous for his long fight against bad government and racial prejudice. He became a hero to people all over the world. Mandela had a big family. He had two daughters and two sons with his first wife, Evelyn Mase, and two daughters with his second wife, Nomzamo Winnie Madikizela. He had four stepchildren from his marriage to Graca Machel. Only three of his children are still alive, his daughters Makaziwe, Zenani and Zindzi. Nelson Mandela was the first black President of South Africa. He spent 27 years in prison for trying to overthrow the pro-apartheid government. After he left prison, he worked to achieve human rights and a better future for everyone in South Africa.
