Never Too Old When Mr. and Mrs. Button were expecting a son, they would have never imagined that their “baby” would be a seventy year old man. While others around Benjamin age normally, he grew younger each day. Benjamin faces abnormal circumstances each year of his life including not being able to remember what he accomplished the past year and ending up around the same age as his son. He attends college when he finally reaches age 18, goes off to prep school, and eventually makes his way to kindergarten. As the years go by, Benjamin continues to grow smaller and his memories fade into a pit of darkness. F. He was able to walk and talk right after being born which terrified his parents. Mr. and Mrs. Button were ashamed and embarrassed to have him as their son. They tried to do anything in their power to transform Benjamin into a normal baby. His parents perceived him as anything but normal and could not grasp the idea that he would get married, attend college, then high school. Fate cannot be changed so, Benjamin’s parents had to adjust to the fact that their “newborn son” was older than them. Benjamin is in a way blessed with his misfortune that is his life. He has a lot of knowledge while “growing up” considering his age. Benjamin takes each day at a time and reminds himself and others that there is always enough time to become who you want to be.
