Franklin D. Roosevelt was a great and confident president in many ways. Franklin D. With his help America was able to recover from the Great Depression. Roosevelt decided to create the new deal, different acts, and motivated people with the goal of helping U.S. citizens with the Great Depression.
The New Deal was made to help people get jobs and get the economy to grow again. It was a series of many campaigns, public work and jobs for the U.S. people. With the new deal he also had many speeches to address different issues. For example he helped the farmers by telling them to let the government tell them what to grow and then they could receive government benefits. He also described the new deal as a “call to arms”. He also closed all the banks and only let banks that were in sound condition reopen, this caused the confidence in the banks to come back. When Roosevelt became president in 1933 he first wanted to motivate people into trying new things. Roosevelt said, “But above all, try something. Because people were suffering, he needed them to be bold. He did not let polio stop him from helping people, he was prepared to act courageously and he showed that by flying to Chicago and giving his speeches in person. On May 4, 1933 he used the radio and called out to many people, he called for courage and promised to take action immediately. He did that by proposing to raise farm prices, reorganize relief work and to hire young men in government-sponsored projects (Franklin Delano Roosevelt, Britannica). This shows that Franklin D. Roosevelt was a determined and strong willed person.
