Dynasty. A line of leaders of a country or region. Most commonly known as a style of ruling centuries ago. Now, the term dynasty is used when describing this team. They have dominated the National Football league for sixteen years and counting. They have appeared in six Super Bowls since 2001 and won four of them. Multiple Hall Of Fame players have came from this team and many more are going to be inducted once they retire. They are the most consistent playoff team since the start of the 2100 century. They are the New England Patriots. The dynasty began because of two main events. One was when the CEO and Chairman of the Patriots hired Bill Belichick as the head coach. Tom Brady is statistically the best quarterback of all time. He has five Super Bowl wins, been to 12 Pro Bowls, 2 All Pro awards, and over 64,000 throwing yards in his career. He is 40 years old and still one of the most dangerous quarterbacks in the NFL. He has been the most important component to the twenty first century dominance of the Patriots. Another important aspect is the other remarkable players that have been a factor and allowed the Pats to be successful. These players include Rob Gronkowski and Julian Edelman. These two players have been Brady’s top receivers in the most recent years. Gronkowski has been the most impactful player and the most dangerous weapon for Tom. He is a 6’6, 265 pound tight end and is a pain in any defense. Then there is Julian Edelman. He is a 6’0, 198 pound slot receiver that is very athletic. However, their downs do not last for long. The most remarkable upset was in 2008 when the Patriots went undefeated through the regular season and made it to the Super Bowl. They were to play the New York Giants. At the end of the game, the score was 14-17. The Giants won. There were two other instances where the dynasty was strained. The instances were called spy-gate and deflate-gate. Spygate was when the Patriots had film of the New York Jets sideline play calls and deflate-gate was when the Patriots played with under-inflated balls for a game. After deflategate, Tom Brady was suspended for four games and that same season he came back and won the Super Bowl. One other crippling factor applied to the Patriots dynasty is the injuries to key player. Gronkowski has had surgery on his back, on his right arm, and on his right knee. Edelman tore his ACL in the pre season of this season and hasn’t played a regular season game this year. Tom Brady has torn his ACL in 2008 and didn’t play the rest of the season.
