Winchester is a very popular firearm company that has been around since 1866; that’s almost 150 years. Oliver Winchester was the original founder of this very successful firearm selling business today. Obviously this company has changed a lot since it was first started. In 1866, they actually bought out another company called New Haven Arms Company and changed it to Winchester Repeating Arms Company. In 1873, the first actual Winchester gun was manufactured. I personally have a Winchester rifle and also a shotgun from Winchester. In my opinion, Winchester has been more successful with their new series of shotguns than most of their other types of guns. The SXP series of shotguns offers multiple types of shotguns to fit your specific needs. At this time, they currently have 20 SXP series shotguns. They've got guns for people who need a home defense or tactical type gun, some that are specifically used for trap shooting, some that are for slugs only, a couple that are pretty general types for birds and varmints, and also a new waterfowl gun. I think they could have changed all of the white in their logo to black to make the red pop even more. The symbolism i’m seeing with this logo especially is the amount of black and white in it. With all this black and white, it makes me think they they are trying to almost seem like they are still “old school” and also modern with the red underneath. In the posters, just about every single one has a horse, a cowboy, a pistol in a holster on the cowboy’s waist, and the cowboy also is usually carrying a lever action rifle. I think these few things are used in the posters because it represents the history and also the uniqueness of the company. The main target audience is probably mostly men from the ages of 20-60. Don’t get me wrong, there’s still a ton of women from all ages all over the world that have at least one Winchester and uses it just like everyone else. Im just saying it’s usually mostly males. Obviously, people with an outdoor and hunting lifestyle are going to be the people who will be purchasing and dealing with this company. If you’re wondering where I came across this advertisement, I didn't really find it in any magazines, newspapers, or on
