Becoming the Vice President of Public Relations for the Rho Beta Chapter is a Phi Theta Kappa activity that has had a profound impact on my life, both socially and academically. When I initially joined Phi Theta Kappa, I was unaware of the high caliber of company that I was joining. The Phi Theta Kappa community is one where members encourage each other to challenge themselves academically, and invest wholeheartedly in their community. Running for and holding an office in the Rho Beta Chapter has given me the opportunity to meet and develop relationships with my fellow members. Since holding this office, I have met and befriended many new people who continuously inspire me.
While attending St Joseph’s College I have taken leadership roles within my community and within the classroom. In my community, I have helped organize two teams to participate in the Breast Cancer Awareness walk and
I can contribute my knowledge of social justice and ability to be a community servant to this organization. My long-term life goal is to become a hospital owner in multiple underrepresented areas and foreign countries. Being a community servant, one can build character while helping open doors or provide opportunities for those who are less fortunate. I’ve read the many articles of the large groups of Alpha men graduating from Meharry Medical College, that have had such a huge impact on the surrounding communities by giving a helping hand when needed. It’s the small things that count and makes me eager to join the previous groups of male leaders striving to achieve their goals, which defy all odds against
Through the National Student Leadership Conference, I will be marching out of my comfort zone and learning qualities that will aid me in becoming a better leader. In my school there are numerous leadership opportunities, from being class president, to being a house captain, to planning a school wide event.
Every Resident Advisor (RA) answers the on-call phone with a bit of apprehension, but when the caller tells you that they are concerned that their friend may hurt herself physically, all your nerves stand on edge. It was this experience and others like it that reaffirmed my decision to pursue a career in the Healthcare field with a specific interest in mental health. My life’s journey began on a small multiracial island where we believed and practiced “every creed and race find an equal place,” these words taken from our country’s national anthem. In our multicultural society, religion played a large role in influencing the societal norms and practices which were of a conservative nature.
Many of my opportunities to be a leader have come from my gifts and
Many posses the commitment to the qualities of scholarship, leadership, service, and character, but how one uses them shows the core of their disposition. For each of these qualities, there are many traits, useful in a leader, and not. Since it is only my second year as a student at Carlsbad High School, there has not been much time of my being distracted from my school work as I try to be as diligent of a student as possible. However, from time to time, I take a break and do things for the community instead. The students that make up the National Honor Society are extremely dedicated in the areas of scholarship, leadership, service, and character, and I would be very grateful to be a part of the standards.
I have also attended many conferences, and helped plan two People of the Pacific conferences held at Copper Hills and Utah Valley University. In the summer of 2015, I was invited to attend the 13th Annual Youth Leadership Conference at Stanford University. Only 100 students in the nation were chosen. Due to some family circumstances, I’ve had to take on more responsibility at home. I work as hard as I can to be a positive influence for my younger
At my high school, the Beta Club is the most elite, respected, and prestigious club. It is filled with the leaders, the doers, the hard-working, and the individuals who turn their dreams into reality. It is not for everyone, and in our ever-changing society, that is clear. Most people today do not like to rise up to the ever-growing challenge of leadership. It takes a certain kind of person to be a good leader, and the Beta Club has greatly helped me in doing so.
Emerging while also regarding someone else’s views and culture is the first step into becoming a leader both in and outside of the classroom, by demonstrating these qualities I will be a great asset to my host community.
The National Honor Society is an opportunity for many students, who are well educated with dreams and leaderships skills, to upgrade themselves. The sole purpose of this organization is to endeavor leaders in different societies to help out their community. It will help colleges to notify the leaders when looking at students’ resumes, for those students in this organization will be the few who are well-developed leaders in their school. Since this will be the first time to be given the opportunity to contribute to this organization, I may not know everything about the requirements in which I need to manage.
I have attended several leadership camps and seminars, but there is always room for improvement in regards to leadership abilities. Having a higher leadership role than what I already have will significantly improve my knowledge of leadership and better refine the leadership skills that I already have. There are a lot of
Mrs. Fehrman, I've always taken joy in being a leader. Having the ability to help guide someone in the right direction intrigues me. That's why I would love to have a leadership position in National Junior Honors Society. I'm specifically interested in being the president, but if I don't get it, I would love to fill another position. I promise that if given the opportunity, I will be a responsible, honest, creative, committed, positive, and productive leader.
CORPORATE LEADERSHIP SEVEN HABITS AND DEMING’S 14 POINTS AROOJ ZAFAR 01-221162-105 SEVEN HABITS AND DEMING’S 14 POINTS Stephen R. covey the author of the book “principle centered leadership” explained ways to establish personal effectiveness. In his book, he discovered seven habits that allow people or organizations to develop commitment towards stable and unchanging principles in their behaviors and interactions; in the state of interdependence. He linked total quality with principle centered leadership as it allows people to be more intrinsically motivated to seek stability and continuous improvement. Interpersonal effectiveness is essential to total quality as it allows organizations to develop relationships within the departments,
Question 1 Peter Loescher was hired by Siemens when the company was experiencing extremely difficult times. After the bribery scandal, the main goal was to gain back the trust and respect from the customers and partners, as well as building a new vision. The company’s board of directors decided that they needed a person from outside of the company, who had no connection and loyalty to previous vision, and no affiliation with previous management team. In my opinion, the company owners hired Loescher for a specific purpose to change the overall team perception of how work is supposed to be done.
