To begin, my immediate academic goal is to graduate from Arizona State University in May of 2018 with a B.S. in Political Science and a B.A. in Interdisciplinary Studies with two areas of concentration (1) Justice Studies and (2) Sociology. In each semester of attendance at Arizona State University I have exceeded a 4.0 GPA, as well as earning designation on the Dean's List for the past three semesters. In fact, in this 2017 fall semester I earned a 4.27 GPA with enrollment in fifteen credit hours. Additionally, I was inducted into the Alpha Iota Sigma Honor Society in March, as well as the Phi Kappa Phi Honor Society in October, and this month I accepted my invitation to the Golden Key International Honour Society. A strong leader achieves maximum value and results through leveraging peoples’ strengths and embracing diversity of thought. Likewise, my most significant leadership quality is my ability to listen. True leadership involves understanding how and when to be collaborative. Although facilitation is imperative, the competency to listen, interpret and apply differing points of view is paramount when exercising leadership. Listening is how leaders learn what motivates and inspires people. For this reason, I breed motivation and inspiration through building confidence in people and enabling them to realize their full potential to become the best versions of themselves. Once the motivating factors are understood, you can focus on your leadership approach. Another area of effective leadership I possess is my ability to foster trust and build relationships. I have found the most effective way to lead individuals or groups is by understanding and celebrating individual strengths, embracing diversity, and removing barriers in order for individuals to capitalize on their strengths and execute actionable change, expedite the desired result, and maximize their potential
