The U.S. Service Academies require high standards of character, honor, and commitment. These standards are what lead to my dedication to attend a U.S. Service Academy.
I have always pushed to seek out challenges, to not only test my limits but also to surpass the found limits to grow and improve. For example, I joined the IB program during my junior year of high school despite the continuous comments on the difficulty of the program. In the classes that weren't IB oriented, I chose to take AP and Honors classes over regular classes, independently, because I knew through taking AP and Honors classes I would be able to have a deeper understanding in the subject, even with the larger workload in these classes I knew it was the right decision that was led by my aspiration for challenges. This applies to my wish to attend a Service Academy because of the challenge the academies hold compared to a regular four-year or two-year college. These leadership positions are where my passion for leading others began. Being a leader in these positions initiated a spark that continued to grow, resulting in my decision to pursue an education and career that would allow me not only nurture my leadership skills but also allow me to lead others to greatness. Through holding leadership positions, I not only have gained confidence but I have thrived on watching others become into their own.
