Violence is a wide spread cause of disruption towards any possible peace in our societies. It is sparked by many factors such as different beliefs, thoughts, views, aggression, etc... All of these factors lead to acts of violence including crimes and terrorism. One of the many crimes committed throughout the world as a result of these factors is the attack in Nice, France on Bastille Day. An act of violence not only inflicts harm on the public but it also inflicts harm on the person that caused the crime. The act of spreading said conspiracy theories is both harmful and helpful. It maybe harmful as the criminals themselves can use the public’s interest in conspiracy theories to spark havoc within the country by convincing people of a certain idea, which leads to the formation of groups rebelling against the leaders and any un-supporting public. However, it could be helpful as through the conspiracy theories, one can actually see truth which maybe hidden within footage or things said that officials may not want the public to know about! Some crimes can all be just a false-flag set up by the nation’s leaders so that they could reach a particular goal. The Nice attack itself has some conspiracy theories surfacing through the internet about it stating that it is all a false-flag. For example, the government and authorities had been struggling to control a citizen uprising for the past three months and now, after the attack, they can impose more state of emergency measures, call up military operational measures, and justify clamping down on any dissidents to thwart the uprising movement. This is basically why leaders are very quick to release a statement; they need the people to know the truth. Some may say that the fact leaders are releasing a statement very quickly indicates there maybe a false flag, but I suppose we would all like to think otherwise. If no official statements were to be released, people would make up their own versions of the story based on what they heard or read which could result in unhealthy negotiations and beliefs among the public. All of this is not to the country nor the leaders advantage, thus leaders would give a public statement as soon as possible in order to keep the country intact and content.
