Guy Montag’s Transformation “The temperature at which book paper catches fire and burns.” In Fahrenheit 451, Ray Bradbury conveys how the character, Montag, and all the other characters interact with each other and how their world views are different than ours. Throughout the story, Bradbury thoroughly explains how the several characters, which live in the inevitable future, adapt to the government and how their emotions and choices differ than ours. Ray Bradbury’s use of literary elements, such as imagery and direct characterization in the novel assist the reader’s comprehension of the overall change of Montag and point of the well-written work.

The Alchemist is a famous book written by Paulo Coelho. It’s about a shepherd named Santiago who travels from his homeland Spain to the Pyramids in Egypt. He does this to find a treasure he was told about. Along his hard journey, he meets some people along the way like a gypsy woman and a king in disguise who all direct him towards his quest. He doesn’t let the obstacles stop him toward his goal and eventually he finds his treasure.

In the short story, “The Diary of a Madman” by Guy de Maupassant, an esteemed magistrate is being remembered for the model citizen he was, having lived a life that no one could subject to criticism. However, a notary uncovered his diary in a drawer in his home, in which he entailed his tendencies and cravings for murder that no one had expected of him. Within this text, the author uses the character of the magistrate to convey the theme that one’s true character cannot be decided from external appearance or actions. From the beginning of the text, it is made evident that this man was revered as the most well-respected judge in all of France.
