Nido Quebin, a successful businessman and motivational speaker, once said “Nothing can add more power to your life than concentrating all your energies on a limited set of targets.” My main priority and most important goal in my life right now is to do exactly that. I plan on concentrating all of my energies into my education, working towards a limited set of targets composed of complete knowledge, and the understanding of business management in all of its aspects.
A degree in management appeals to me because it reinforces the possibility of obtaining a leadership role in the future. It is also a field where you can be taught everything you need to know to succeed, but the execution is based on every individual. Working for the past seven years in the service industry taught me that no role is too small in any group and to be successful, it does not matter where you came from, it matters how you treat your peers. Bartending may not compare to a high-ranking business profession, but it has taught me skills I would need to obtain to be a great leader.
