Memory is a gift that has inspired people to transgress beyond all limits and in some instances held us down like an anchor. As we grow and become more experienced in life, with situations and how to go about and handle things we are forced to make the decision to move on or let the event that occurred in our life to hold us back and never progress or become anything more than what we are now. When Elie Wiesel wrote this book he wasn’t thinking of all the money he could make or how famous he could become, he had no idea he was going to win a Nobel Peace Prize. He said, “If you ask me what I want to achieve, it’s to create an awareness, which is already the beginning of teaching.” He wrote this book because he knew that someone had to tell the story of what happened to 6 million Jews. “It would be a sin to remain silent.” - Elie Wiesel Which not only in his book but many other cases this statement is very true. If someone was put on trial for murdering someone and you were the only witness who saw what they had done and you said nothing at all and the defendant was said unguilty, you let someone get away with murder. That’s one of the biggest reasons the book “Night” is so important so that when people read what took place they will be able to understand and know we shouldn’t let it happen again. There’s no reason why someone should suffer the same experience over and over. There’s no way to prevent anything bad or heart breaking from happening to us but we can prevent that same thing from happening again from learning from or experiences.
