In this passage, my mother and I listened to a discussion Eliezer and Moishe the Beadle had together. Moishe the Beadle asks Eliezer why does he pray. Eliezer is dumbfounded by the question as he his used to praying regularly. He replies to Moishe he does not know why prays. Moishe later tells him that people should ask God questions even though people won’t understand His reply.
During the holocaust, Jews were horribly mistreated and beaten down. But we’ve never known the full story of one until now. In this case, In the book “Night,” Eliezer and Madame Schacter both face conflicts in their lives. Eli faces internal conflict about family relationships being put to the test and Madame Schacter faces external conflict about negative acts of humanity.
As the novel continues, the Germans start to treat the Jews badly to the point where they are identified using numbers instead of their real names, physically harming the Jews for any reason they could find, and forcing them to work by assigning them in certain areas for them to be at. Night Final Response The Night is a science fiction story of a Jew named Eliezer who has to survive through the horrible things inside the concentration camps in the 1940’s. Throughout the story, the author shows the reader that there is a theme of silence that comes from people and God alike. One example of silence within the story is the horrors of the concentration camps. The Germans showed propaganda of what happened inside the concentration camps, which led to the Jews’ liberators being scared from what they saw.
Elie: Throughout the book we see Elie change from a relatively normal teenage school boy and into a emotionally hardened young man who has become so accustomed to death that he rarely gives it a second thought, even if the person dying was a friend . This change took place because of the tortuous conditions that the Nazi´s subjected him to and that he lost so many family members and friends along the way. My passage shows Elie at a time when he is just starting his journey, yet you can tell that the concentration camps and the Nazi´s have already had a very serious effect on him. ¨He must have died, trampled under the feet if the thousands of men who followed us.

The Holocaust can easily be defined as one of the most tragic events in history. Masses were left never knowing if death or life was ahead of them. Among the multitude of people affected by the Holocaust, was fifteen year-old Elie Wesiel. Wesiel’s memoir Night written and released in 1960 about his captivating experiences in the Holocaust. Though there were not many survivors of the Holocaust, many of them survived by finding strength through human connection whether meeting a random person in passing or finding strength in family.
