Do you ever wonder asking who made our Alternative Current (an electric current that able to reverse it direction of flow often many times per second) that was used in our house hold appliance, indutry, and world wide; alternative current was made by Nikola Tesla.. However, you need know the history and you may think that studying history is just a waste of time, but it is not. We could understand what happened in the past and the reason behind it by learning about history. Theodore Roosevelt said, “I believe that the more you know about the past, the better you are prepared for the future.” Nikola Tesla was born during a stormy day on 10 July 1856, in a place that is now called as Smijlan, Croatia. Because of Tesla born during the stormy day, many peoples told his mom that Tesla will live in darkness. Regardless, Tesla's mother believes that Tesla will become a man who brings light. However, for some reason, his interest is in electricity. In 1881, Tesla started his career as an electrical engineer for a telephone company in Budapest. After that, he went to America to introduce his induction motor and was accepted to work for Thomas Edison Laboratory in New York. At that time, Thomas Edison is a famous businessman known his invention: the direct current (D.C.). In 1884, Nikola Tesla discovered alternating current (A.C.) and ask Thomas Edison to change the line in his laboratory dynamos and to change the light that still uses direct current. However, Edison refused the idea because he was afraid to lose his investment in direct current. From that moment, Thomas Edison and Nikola Tesla became a rival. Nikola Tesla stopped working for Edison and start his own A.C. industry together with George Westinghouse to introduce the A.C. to the world. In the other hand, Edison did not want to lose as he also introduced D.C. industry to the world. However, in the end, Edison was lost to Tesla's A.C.
