Tesla and His Vision The phenomenon produced by Nikola Tesla’s leadership driven vison gave mankind an invention that propelled us on the grandest scale; in ways that he could have barely imagined. An idiomatic term to “Take Hold of the Future” summed this inventor up! He was never a man who waited for others to achieve for humanity. He forged ahead with dynamic and magnetic ideas- with vision that baffled most of his peers during his life. Indeed his ideas still mystify some today. Tesla’s vision was to help mankind. True leaders do not pine for public praise and the accumulation of wealth. True riches to him were the advancement of the entire human. Although he hinted at the fact that he had achieved wireless electricity transfer before …show more content…
He was a Serbian American inventor and forward thinker. He was an inventor by nature-a scientific savant. (Nikola Tesla. (2016, August 11) He started his work in telephony, or the use of a telephone system to send and receive sounds over long distances. He immigrated to the United States first employed by Thomas Edison in 1884, and lived in New York. His father was Milutin Tesla and Duka Tesla his mother. He had four brothers and sisters. Milutin was an Orthodox priest; his mother was a simple home maker. His early years in school were unremarkable- as was Einstein’s. Greatness sometimes starts unremarkably. His scientific endeavors were his passion and he endured lifelong chastity in order to give his complete energy to his dream. Nikola Tesla the man was a great leader; strong and selfless! A secluded inventor, he achieved through hard work. But greatness can lead from afar. A shepherd must know where he is best needed by his flock; in front leading them, on the sidelines to keep the herd on track, and sometimes in the rear to help stragglers. Leaders must be able to lead virtually-sometimes from a great secluded distance. We find this true today in our virtually driven world. We span unlimited distances easily because of this one …show more content…
So Tesla soon lost financial support and praise from Edison and branched off on his own. (Edison’s Revenge; Electricity (2013, October 19). He had a vision in the form of a dream where a bicycle chain moved back and forth on its sprocket and realized that electrons could do the same in wire. Alternating current was suddenly brought forth into our modern reality. Just as water is acted upon by gravity electricity must flow naturally. Direct current needed many substations and great infrastructure to bring electricity into homes. Direct current diminishes over great distance, and requires many substations to push it along. It was apparent from the start that Edison and his investors wanted to benefit financially from this need of building and maintaining infrastructure; their greed, and lack of selfless vision would have set us back decades! Tesla’s concept and patents brought electricity into homes safely and less expensively. Without this one invention, industry could never have driven technology into the realms we have today- into the computer generation. We may never have left this planet. Can you the reader live without electricity or a computer? His past leadership and vison makes our current life
