“Today’s scientists have substituted mathematics for experiments, and they wander off through equation and equation, and eventually build a structure which has no relation to reality” -Nikola Tesla, Modern Mechanics and Inventions, July, 1934 (“The Quotations Page”). Considered as one of history’s leading inventors Nikola Tesla is mostly known for leading the world into the electrical age. Inventing the products used widely around the world, while never getting presented with the credit for his contributions.
It all started when “Nikola Tesla was born on July 10, 1856, in what is now Smiljan, Croatia. He was one of five children which included siblings Dane, Angelina, Milka, and Marica, in the family (Biography).” Growing up he found a interest …show more content…

The newer trains use these devices to propel the train forward by switching the current of the magnets underneath the rail system. Tesla moved to several places in turn to improve and figure a way to get his inventions to a higher place. By moving to Budapest he ended up also, creating the alternating current motor. The alternating current motor can be found in several devices like clocks, power tools, and washing machines. The alternating current motor and Tesla’s work with A/C power, which is considered his greatest invention, at the age of 28 Nikola left Europe for America. “Tesla liquidated what few assets he had, borrowed additional funds from his uncles, and set sail for New York aboard the steamer SS City of Richmond …show more content…

Though it took a long time coming to where Tesla is known for most electrical and multiple patents. “The “genius who lit the world” is now commemorated with an electrical unit called the Tesla, has a place in the inventor’s hall of fame, streets, statues, and a prestigious engineer’s award in his name, but in life he wasn’t always successful (Nikola Tesla).” Though Tesla had great ideas that known to work Tesla didn’t know how to grow his business of inventing. He moved frequently leading to ideas being pushed around and him never knowing when he could keep up a business. Tesla started a laboratory with a couple of partners and created Tesla Lighting and Manufacturing where he started work with Niagara’s hydroelectric power stations and perfecting the alternating current system. Though Tesla’s lab was going to be a success with his futuristic ideas Tesla’s Lighting and Manufacturing company was a failure when the men that partnered with him for financing forced him out. This left Tesla penniless and losing the patents for which helped with the business in the first place, due to the fact he signed them over to the
